Fetes des Boudins de Tante Thurine

I have no idea who aunt Thurin was but she obviously made a great pudding!
This is an annual event held on the last Sunday in July in village of Le Roc St Andre. Organised at the local sports ground, by the local sports club “the Squirrels”.
It usually ‘kicks off’ with a parade which makes its way to the sports field where huge marquees are put up to accommodate the long trestle tables for people to eat their ‘formule’ lunches at. Around the field are various stalls selling craft items, crepes and drinks, even a bar…. and of course a stall selling the famous ‘Boudins’, which are similar to British Black Puddings.
There are also games stalls e.g. a coconut shy, football game etc.

Like most Breton events it involves lots of food, drinks and Breton dancing.
Well fuelled by a good lunch, washed down of course with plenty of local beer, cider and wine, everyone joins in the Breton dancing which seems to go on until everyone is shattered and decides to go home. It’s a great day out for all the family. There is plenty of free parking at the sports ground and a generally relaxed, family fun atmosphere.

If you want to have lunch, tickets are sold at the local mairie or bar restaurant.
If you just want to go along and join in the fun (and the dancing) entry and parking are free after lunch.
